Fifth District Savings Bank - Hurricane Katrina Update
The devastation of Hurricane Katrina has severely impacted banking services throughout the Greater New Orleans area. Fifth District is working to restore services as quickly as possible. Authorities are reporting that the Westbank may have been spared from the worst of this disaster. Fifth District will re-open offices as conditions permit in consideration of the safety and security of both our customers and employees. In the meantime, we hope you find the following information helpful.

Deposit Accounts
Customers may obtain cash from their checking accounts by using their ATM and VISA debit cards. Fifth District is waiving its usual fees imposed on use of non-Fifth District ATMs (however, ATM owners may assess their own fees). Additionally, our on-line Internet banking services are operational at http://www.fifthdistrict.com/. We are receiving and crediting to customer accounts direct deposits, such as social security and payroll. We will be able to accept other deposits, and execute transactions on certificates of deposit when we resume services at our offices.

Loan Payments
Payments on mortgage and home equity loans are being suspended for 60 days (September and October). During this "grace period", we will make every attempt to refund electronic mortgage payments already received.

Bank by Phone
You may call Fifth District’s toll free customer service number at 1-866-610-8950 to obtain account information, check account balances and make account transactions.
